IN NORDIC FOLKLORE and to Icelanders it is called "Ultima Thule." The Tibetans call it "Shamballa, Agarta." The Persians, ancient Greeks, Romans, native American Indians from the north and south sing and write about it. Scores of myths talk about it from every country and every culture.

UFO followers believe that the hollow earth is the source for spacecrafts, that UFO's are flying out of the earth, landing and using the inner earth as an airport. Others believe that the future salvation of the earth rests with a population of super beings who inhabit the center of the earth which is warmed by an inner sun. To each believer, the idea of a hollow earth serves a different need. Is it populated by a holy race or is it populated by a race of evil characters transported from different planets? Is it the place where the Atlantians and Mayans are now living or a place inhabited by giants who live an eternal life? What do the Eskimos, Hopi Indians, Hitler, Tibetan Monks and Icelanders have in common? So many different beliefs, so many different believers.

The ISCE was formed in 1976 to investigate and celebrate the potential of the inner world. The world as we know it may not be complete, hence the thrust of our organization. The ISCE is the largest single repository of information on the hollow earth in the world. Accredited researchers throughout the world have been examining this subject matter for years. They have shared information, ideas and theories based on research and observation and have complied mounds of information, tapes, books, essays, videos, slides and photographs. The ISCE is the disseminator of the plethora of useful information and continues its search for facts to bring light to the study. For instance, were you aware that the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. was founded because the U.S. Congress financed an expedition to the South Pole to find the entrance to the hollow earth? Its true! The sailing expedition was led by Lt. Charles Wilkes from 1838-1842. This led to the accumulation of the very first artifacts that started the museum.

HOW ABOUT YOURSELF? How did you first hear about the theory of the hollow earth? What intriques you about it? Do you have sufficient information or conclusive evidence proving this theory? Do you believe the hollow earth exists? Is the belief supported by fact? What, in your estimation, constitutes fact? Is anyone who is saying that the earth is hollow really credible? There is substantial evidence that the theory has provided intriguing leads. The evidence suggests the possibility and has a great deal of supporting data which teeters on the edge of probability. As an investigator, are you completely satisfied with the information that has been brought to your attention so far? If you knew for certain that the earth is hollow and is peopled by a superior strain of beings that are thousands of years advanced in technology and reside in an environment that supports life far beyond that of human beings, would such a fact change your life and world in which you live?
